In Quoridor, your objective is simple: be the first player to get your pawn to the opposite side of the board. Pawns are moved one square at a time, vertically or horizontally, forwards or backwards.

The twist is that players can also choose to put up fences to block their opponent. A bit like British Bulldog in slo-mo, players create a maze that you have to be the first to go through. You have to spare a path while slowing down the opponent, but without locking him! This balance between advancing your own pawn and obstructing your opponent makes Quoridor a classic of abstract games!
