Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game

Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game, the first title in the "Crossroads" series, is a meta-cooperative psychological survival game for 2-5 players. It puts you in a small, weakened colony of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world filled with flesh-craving monsters. Each player leads a faction of survivors, with dozens of different characters available to choose from.

This is a game where players are working together toward one common victory condition, but to achieve individual victory, each player must also complete a personal secret objective. These objectives can range from a harmless psychological tick to a dangerous obsession that puts the main goal at risk, a desire for outright sabotage, or even vengeance against the colony. Games could end with all players winning, some winning and some losing, or all players losing.

Dead of Winter is a story-centric game about surviving a harsh winter. Players will be making frequent, difficult, and wildly-varying decisions that often force them to choose between what is best for the colony and what is best for themselves. The rulebook also includes a fully co-operative variant in which all players work toward the group objective with no personal goals. Work toward the group's goal, but don't get walked all over by a loudmouth who's looking out only for their own interests!
