Root is an exciting game of adventure and strategy set in a vast wilderness, where 2 to 4 players battle for control of the woodland. In this beautifully illustrated game, the nefarious Marquise de Cat has seized the forest, aiming to harvest its riches. However, the woodland creatures have united in a determined Alliance to resist her rule.

As players choose their factions, the dynamics of the game unfold:

• The Cats: Engage in engine building and logistics as they police the wilderness. By collecting wood, they could construct workshops, lumber mills, and barracks to secure their dominance. Victory is achieved by building new structures and crafting resources.

• The Eyrie: Led by a new commander, the proud and squabbling Eyrie faction strives to reclaim their ancient territory. They must capture as much land as possible and build roosts before internal conflict causes them to collapse.

• The Alliance: Operating from the shadows, the Alliance works to strengthen their resources while plotting conspiracies against the Cats. Starting slowly, they aim for a dramatic late-game presence but must keep their rivals in check.

• The Vagabond: This wandering character plays all sides of the conflict for personal gain, exploring the board, engaging in combat, and pursuing a mysterious quest.
